Acne Studios‘ creative director Jonny Johansson calls on his preteen son, Frasse Johansson, to be the face of womenswear—call it the J.W. Anderson effect. The campaign shows a nose picking Frasse wearing the Acne Studios fall 2015 RTW sturdy tweed, thick rope lacing coats, as the brand continues to push the idea of gender blurring (e.g. the brand’s spring 2016 menswear presentation was “a very clear nod to the world of the New York Dolls,” that saw boys wearing platform shoes). The statement Johansson is trying to make with this campaign goes beyond gender however in which it “portrays that feeling of first experiences with fashion, like a kid experimenting with their look for the first time.” And of the campaign the fifth grader told WWD that, “walking in high heels is so hard, and I don’t understand how anyone can walk in them. Playing football is more my thing but it was great fun to do it. And I got to hang out with my dad.” Listen to the kids brah! American fashion designer Jeremy Scott dressed the MTV VMAs Moonman in his spring 2014 color-bar striped old television test pattern suiting, paired with his iconic wing sneakers, and a big chromed out peace necklace. Of the necklace, Scott explained to Variety Magazine that, “In a way, it’s a little bit of a reference to “We come in peace,” and aliens and stuff. He’s on the moon, and I think peace is a good thing to promote.” Coupled with Scott’s Moonman was a color TV bar carpet. See the eight men that stood out on it in the slideshow above.
